Intro
With Deadline Funnel + ManyChat, you can add authentic deadlines to your automated sequences in ManyChat, so that after someone opt in to your sequence, they will receive a unique deadline for your special offer.
Note: You need to be on a paid ManyChat Pro Plan in order to integrate your automation with Deadline Funnel.
There are three different ways to integrate ManyChat with Deadline Funnel. In this article, we will guide you through all three integration options.
Method 1: Start the Deadline at a Specific Point in Your ManyChat Automation (When You're Collecting User's Email Address in ManyChat)
The first method is when you have a DM funnel set up in Manychat, as in this automation:
The trigger is when a user sends us a message with a specific keyword. We are sending them a message as the action, and we're using data collection in ManyChat to collect their email address.
In this example, the user sends us the keyword LEARN. We respond with "Hey! What's your email so we can send over your free guide?"
Once the user sends us their email address, we're following up with a link to our free guide.
1. Copy Your Webhook
Open the Emails tab on the left side of your Deadline Funnel campaign, and copy the webhook:
2. Add an Action on Reply
To integrate this automation with Deadline Funnel, you should add an Action on reply:
3. Make External Request
Select Actions ➜ Automation ➜ Make External Request:
Click on Add your request:
4. Insert Your Webhook
You should now see this screen, where we will paste our Deadline Funnel webhook from Step 1:
Paste the webhook into the Request URL field:
Click on Body and then Add Full Contact Data, and Save:
Whenever a lead goes through this automation and provides their email address, they will now be added to Deadline Funnel and receive a unique deadline.
You should also set up the follow-up message, where you will link to your offer page.
5. Set Up Your Follow-Up Message
First, click on the follow-up message:
Click on Download:
6. Copy Your Email Link
Open the Emails tab on the left side of your campaign editor, and copy your Email Link:
7. Add Your Email Link
Open ManyChat, and paste the Email link in the Website URL field:
8. Remove Merge Tag
You should now remove the parameters at the end of the email link.
In our example, this is the email link: https://dfl0.us/s/9dd7cde7?em=[email]
After we've removed the ending parameters, it should look like this: https://dfl0.us/s/9dd7cde7?em=
When you are done, it should look like this:
Then, click on the code icon and select Email:
Click Done when you are finished.
As soon as a user sends their email address and goes through the webhook, their deadline will start in Deadline Funnel.
Method 2: Start the Deadline at a Specific Point in Your ManyChat Automation (When You're Not Collecting User's Email Address in ManyChat)
In the second method, we control when the deadline starts, but we do not collect the user's email address.
Here's what our automation in ManyChat looks like:
1. Copy Your Webhook
Open the Emails tab on the left side of your Deadline Funnel campaign, and copy the webhook:
2. Set Up a Trigger
First, we have set up a trigger, which is when a user sends us a message containing the word LEARN.
3. Create the Action
Then, create the Action, which is where we will add the Deadline Funnel webhook.
4. Make External Request
Select Actions ➜ Automation ➜ Make External Request:
Click on Add your request:
5. Insert Your Webhook
You should now see this screen, where we will paste our Deadline Funnel webhook from Step 1:
Paste your webhook into the Request URL field:
Click on Body and then Add Full Contact Data, and Save:
You should also set up the follow-up message, where you will link to your offer page.
6. Open Your Follow-Up Message
First, click on the follow-up message:
Click on Download:
7. Copy Your Email Link
Open the Emails tab on the left side of your campaign editor, and copy the Email Link:
8. Insert Your Email Link
In ManyChat, paste the Email link in the Website URL field:
9. Remove the Merge Tag
10. Select Contact ID
Then, click on the code icon and select Contact ID:
11. Add a New Merge Tag
You should then write @mc.deadlinefunnel.com at the end of the email link. It should look like this:
This allows Deadline Funnel to generate a unique deadline for the user based on their ManyChat contact ID, instead of their email address.
Click Done when you are finished.
You have now integrated Deadline Funnel and ManyChat successfully!
Method 3: Start the Deadline When a User Clicks on a Link You Send Through ManyChat
The third method is for when you want the user's deadline to start when they click on a link, instead of going through a webhook.
In this example, we have the automation triggered when the user contacts us with the word LEARN. We will then send them a message with a link that will trigger the deadline:
1. Copy Your Email Link
Open the Emails tab on the left side of your campaign editor, and copy the Email Link:
2. Paste Your Email Link
In ManyChat, open your message ➜ Download ➜ Paste your email link here:
4. Select Contact ID
Then, click on this icon and select Contact ID:
5. Add New Merge Tag
You should then write @mc.deadlinefunnel.com at the end of the email link. It should look like this:
Click Done when you are finished.
When a user clicks on that link, they will receive a unique deadline based on their ManyChat contact ID, instead of their email address.
