The social proof content block in Portal gives you an easy way to demonstrate social proof to your audience!

Social proof "just works" on any page where Portal is enabled in any of your evergreen Deadline Funnel campaigns.

Now you can display your offer details, deadline, and social proof in one place with Portal - no need to pay for a third-party app just for social proof!

Social proof events

Social proof uses up to two event sources from your Deadline Funnel campaigns: Deadline started events and Sales tracking events:

  • Deadline started events are created when a subscriber in your email marketing platform (or Zapier) goes through the main webhook in your Deadline Funnel campaign that starts their deadline.

  • Sales tracking events are created when a subscriber in your email marketing platform (or Zapier) goes through a sales tracking webhook in your Deadline Funnel campaign that tracks a purchase.

As part of the normal setup for evergreen campaigns, we already provide step-by-step guides for enabling both the regular deadline webhook and the sales tracking webhook in your email marketing platform.

This means that those two event sources will probably be enabled already in your campaigns, which means they're immediately available for use in the social proof block of Portal!

In Portal, you can choose to enable social proof with only a single event source, and choose between deadline started events and sales tracking events. Or you can enable both 😉

You can also choose to use events from any of the existing campaigns in your Deadline Funnel account. 🎉

Social proof events are psuedo-anonymized to display only the first name of the person who generated the event.

Social proof events also have location data psuedo-anonymized by either displaying the state and country if the person generating the event is in the U.S., or just the country if the person generating the event is outside of the U.S.

For events where first name is not available (if the first name was not sent from your email platform to Deadline Funnel via a webhook / Zapier integration), then the social proof block will display "Someone" instead of the person's first name. For example: "Someone just purchased My First Course!"

Portal also has the option to "Hide personal information" where you can choose to always show "Someone" instead of the subscriber's name and location.

Additionally, there is a map icon that is displayed in the left of the social proof block. For privacy purposes, this map image is randomly selected from 10 or more generic map images that are not related to the actual location of the person who generated the event.
