In this doc, we'll show you How to Add a Dynamic Date and Time to Kajabi Email. There are a few additional steps to complete as well -

Important Note: You will need to have a paid Zapier account in order to do this. This setup is not possible on a free Zapier account.

To start, you'll need to create a Zap that triggers the deadline for your subscribers in Kajabi, please refer to our Zapier guide here for instructions on how to do that.

Creating a step in your Zap to populate the Custom Field in Kajabi

Once you've created the Zap to trigger the deadline, you'll click the plus icon here to create an additional step in your Zap:

The purpose of this third step is to send the subscriber's deadline date back to Kajabi so it can be stored in a custom field, which can then be used to dynamically display the deadline in your Kajabi emails.

We're going to do this by submitting the subscriber back to Kajabi through a form that contains the deadline date from Deadline Funnel.

For the form in Kajabi, you can create a simple form with the basic Name and Email fields, as well as a Custom Text Field. You can see here that I've created one titled 'Deadline':

This will appear as a Custom Field in each subscriber's record in Kajabi, and it will be populated with their deadline date.

Back in Zapier, you'll select Kajabi as the platform for the action, then select 'Create Form Submission' as the event:

Then you'll select the account, the form, and the fields that you want to submit through the form:

The Name and Email fields can be pulled from the Kajabi portion of the Zap, and then for the Deadline Text you'll select Deadline Funnel, then click 'Show All Options':

And select 'Deadline Text':

And that's it. You can test it out and then publish the Zap once you've completed these steps.

How to Use Your Custom Field in Your Email

Important Note: There can be a delay between when the Zap triggers the deadline for a contact and when the contact's custom field gets populated with their deadline. Because of this, we recommend that you don't use the custom field in your emails until at least one day after the deadline is initially triggered.

1. In the email editor, place the cursor where you want to add the dynamic date and time and click 'Personalize':

2. Scroll down to find the correct Custom Field, in this example we've named the field 'Deadline' and select that:

3. This will insert your custom field placeholder into your email:

And now when your subscribers receive the email, they will see that the placeholder has been replaced with the deadline text format you chose in your setup.

NOTE: To test this, you must send yourself a live email, the placeholder will not be replaced in a test message.
