Getting Started

In this guide, we'll show you how to add a Deadline Funnel timer to your ShowIt page.

This process involves 3 steps:

Deadline Funnel default behavior

The default behavior in Deadline Funnel is to always show a deadline on the page.

  • If the visitor has already been tracked by Deadline Funnel, then we'll show their existing deadline.

  • If they haven't been tracked yet, Deadline Funnel will start tracking them via their IP address/cookie, and display a new deadline for that user.

Create your Deadline Funnel campaign

You will need to create your first campaign before you can add your timer to a ShowIt page.

Once you've created your Deadline Funnel campaign, you can follow the steps below to integrate with ShowIt.

We're here to help!

Send us a message (bottom-right corner of the screen) Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm PT. Or you can shoot us an email any time at help@deadlinefunnel.com. 🙂

Adding Your Tracking Code to ShowIt

1. To add any kind of timer to a ShowIt page, start by clicking on the 'Tracking Code' tab in the top menu of Deadline Funnel and hit Copy:

2. Go to your ShowIt editor and use the right sidebar to access the 'Advanced Settings' menu:

3. Click on the 'Custom Head HTML' box to add the Deadline Funnel tracking code you had copied before into the field:

4. Then paste the Deadline Funnel tracking code into the 'Update Custom Head HTML' box that pops up, and click 'Save':

Now you're ready to add a Floating Bar, Inline timer, or Portal to your page.

How to add a Floating Bar Timer:

1. After you've added the tracking code to your page (and if you haven't yet, start here), you're ready to add the timer. Return to your ShowIt page and click to view it so you can get the correct URL to add in Deadline Funnel.

2. Navigate to Edit Campaign > Pages to add a new page, then add your ShowIt page URL, select 'Display Floating Bar', add a redirect URL (optional), and then click 'Save'

3. You can now view your ShowIt page to see your Floating Bar countdown timer.
Here's an example of what the Floating Bar looks like:

How to add an Inline Timer:

1. After you've added the tracking code to your page (and if you haven't yet, start here), you're ready to add the timer. Return to your ShowIt page and click to view it so you can get the correct URL to add in Deadline Funnel.

2. Navigate to Edit Campaign > Pages to add a new page then add your ShowIt page URL, select 'Display Inline Timer', add your redirect URL (optional), copy the HTML Code you need to display your timer inline, and click 'Save':

3. Navigate to the ShowIt Editor and click on the rectangular icon at the bottom of the editor (shown below) to add an HTML area where you want your countdown to appear, then click on the HTML widget to open up a little box where you can add your HTML:

4. Here is a closer look at that:

5. Paste the Inline code from Deadline Funnel here and hit 'Save'. Publish any unsaved changes.

6. Now you can now view your ShowIt page to see your Inline Timer:

Note: You can add multiple HTML widgets to your ShowIt page to add additional instances of your countdown to the same page.

If you want to customize the look of your Inline Timer, check out this guide here.

How to Use Portal

1. After you've added the tracking code to your page (and if you haven't yet, start here), you're ready to add the timer. Return to your ShowIt page and click to view it so you can get the correct URL to add in Deadline Funnel.

2. In Deadline Funnel, Navigate to Campaigns > Edit Campaign > Pages and add your ShowIt page URL, select 'Display Portal', add your redirect URL, and click 'Save':

3. Refresh your page and you will see your Portal in the bottom corner. Here's an example of what Portal looks like:
