How to Integrate Deadline Funnel with Kajabi

This guide will walk you through how to set up a direct integration between Deadline Funnel and Kajabi that allows you to trigger deadlines for your subscribers based on when a tag is added to them. Before we get started, there are two important things to note:

  1. This integration option is only available to customers on the Kajabi Growth or Pro plan. If you are not on that plan, you will need to use our Zapier integration to trigger the deadline for your subscribers.

  2. For each campaign you create in Deadline Funnel, you will need to follow these steps to trigger that specific deadline in Kajabi.

Integrate your Deadline Funnel campaign with Kajabi

1. In your Deadline Funnel campaign, make sure you have Kajabi selected as your email platform on the Deadline page here:

2. Next, navigate to the Emails tab in the left-hand menu.

On this page, you'll see an email address at the top. This is what we'll use to send information from Kajabi back to Deadline Funnel to trigger your subscriber's deadline. Click 'Copy':

6. Next, in Kajabi, navigate to Marketing > Automations > 'New Automation' and set it up the following way:

  1. Select 'Tag Is Added' for 'When'

  2. Select the tag you want to use to trigger the deadline, for this example we're using 'DF Trigger Tag'

  3. Select 'Send an Email' for 'Then'

  4. Select 'To my team'

  5. Paste the Email Address you copied from Deadline Funnel into the Recipient box

  6. For the Subject of the email, you'll use the email placeholder for Kajabi: {{email}}

The body of the email is not needed, so you can just add the word 'Text' or 'Test' and then click 'Save'.

Now whenever the DF Trigger Tag is added to a subscriber, Kajabi will send an email to that Deadline Funnel email address. This tells Deadline Funnel to create a tracking record for that subscriber's email in your Deadline Funnel campaign, assigning them a deadline.


Triggering a Deadline in Kajabi

You have a few options for how to trigger the tag when using a rule, including triggering when someone is added to a sequence, when someone subscribes to a form, or when another tag is added. The idea is to connect some step in your funnel that happens when a person first enters the funnel with the deadline trigger.

Option 1 - Add the tag to a Funnel in Kajabi

In this section, we'll cover how to add the trigger tag in a Funnel in Kajabi.

The point at which the trigger tag is added can vary depending on your particular funnel, but in this example, we'll show how to add it so that the deadline will be triggered immediately after someone submits a form.

1. Navigate to your Funnel in Kajabi and click the Plus symbol on the Optin Form step of the Funnel:

2. Select 'Add Tag' and select the tag you created to trigger the deadline:

4. Then hit 'Save'

Now the trigger tag will be added immediately after someone opts in to the funnel, which will start their deadline, and then you can send them through your email sequence:

Option 2 - Set up an Automation to add the trigger tag in Kajabi

In this example, we used "Form is Submitted".

1. Navigate to Automations and click New Automation:

2. In this example, we selected 'Form is Submitted' as the trigger and selected the correct form. We then selected 'Add a tag' as the action, selected the tag that will trigger Deadline Funnel, and clicked 'Save':

3. Now once someone subscribes to that form, Kajabi will apply the tag, and the tag will tell Deadline Funnel to start the countdown.

Note: If you want to integrate several different funnels with Kajabi, you will simply repeat these steps and create a new integration and tag for each campaign, as well as separate automations/sequences in Kajabi.

This creates a system where Tag A triggers Campaign A, while Tag B triggers Campaign B.


Testing Your Integration

You can test your campaign integration by adding yourself into your funnel, waiting until the contact has been tagged, and then checking under Analytics >> People Tracked in Deadline Funnel to confirm your email address was received by Deadline Funnel.

(It may take a couple of minutes to come through, so make sure to wait and refresh the Analytics page a couple of times if it's not showing up.)

If that email appears in the Analytics, you know everything is working correctly with your integration. πŸ™‚ πŸŽ‰ If you don't see it after a few minutes, you'll need to revisit your integration setup and troubleshoot.

Important Note about Email Links

The integration requires that your subscribers click one of the Deadline Funnel Email Links before they reach a page with a timer on it. This is necessary in order to make sure each subscriber is assigned the correct deadline. So in any of your emails where you are linking to a page that is connected to the deadline, be sure to use the relevant Email Link for that page.
