Getting Started

In this guide, we'll show you how to add a Deadline Funnel timer to your WooCommerce Product page. If you're looking for information about how to add the timer to a WooCommerce Sales page, please check out this guide instead.

Adding a timer to your WooCommerce Product page involves 3 steps:

Deadline Funnel default behavior

The default behavior in Deadline Funnel is to always show a deadline on the page.

  • If the visitor has already been tracked by Deadline Funnel, then we'll show their existing deadline.

  • If they haven't been tracked yet, Deadline Funnel will start tracking them via their IP address/cookie, and display a new deadline for that user.

Create your Deadline Funnel campaign

You will need to create your first campaign before you can add your timer to a WooCommerce page.

Once you've created your Deadline Funnel campaign, you can follow the steps below to integrate with WooCommerce.

Important Note:

Deadline Funnel's tracking will re-direct site visitors away from your sales page when their deadline expires, but you may also want to hide the sales page from your WooCommerce shop. To hide the lower-priced product from the shop, check out our guide here.

Adding Your Tracking Code WooCommerce

1. To add the Tracking Code to your WooCommerce product page, you need to first download and install our Wordpress plugin.

2. In the top right-hand corner click the person icon and click Account:

3. Navigate to Advanced > Code Snippets, find the plugin listed under 'Wordpress', and click Download Plugin:

4. Then click to copy the API key below that:

5. In the Plugins section of your WordPress dashboard, click Add New > Upload Plugin and click Install to select the plugin from your download location.

Make sure to select the zipped 'deadlinefunnel.zip' file to upload. (Do not unzip the file)

6. When the installation is complete, click 'Activate'.

7. Next, click to add your Deadline Funnel key:

8. Paste your Deadline Funnel API Key into the box and click 'Save Settings':

Note: While your Deadline Funnel Tracking code will be automatically added to every page on your WordPress site, the countdown timer will not appear until you add your page(s) to the Pages section of your campaign and tell Deadline Funnel what kind of countdown to show.

Now you're ready to add a Floating Bar, Inline timer, or Portal to your page.

How to add a Floating Bar Timer

1. After you've added the tracking code to your page (and if you haven't yet, start here), you're ready to add the timer. Open up your WooCommerce product page in a new tab and copy the URL directly from the address bar:

2. Navigate to Pages, add the URL for your product page, select 'Display Floating Bar', add the redirect URL, and click 'Save':

3. Since you used the Deadline Funnel plugin to add your tracking code to your website, no other steps are needed. You can view your product page to see your Floating Bar countdown timer. Here's an example of what the Floating Bar looks like:

How to add an Inline Timer:

1. After you've added the tracking code to your page (and if you haven't yet, start here), you're ready to add the timer. In the Products section of your WooCommerce settings, click the name of your product to edit it:

2. In your Deadline Funnel dashboard, under Your Account >> Advanced >> Code Snippets, copy the Deadline Funnel WordPress shortcode for an inline countdown:

3. In WordPress, scroll down to the 'product short description' box and paste your Deadline Funnel short code into the description where you want your inline countdown timer to appear and then click 'Update' to save your changes:

4. Return to your Pages and add the URL for your product page, select 'Display Inline Timer', add your redirect URL, and click 'Save':

5. View your product page and you will see your countdown timer in the location where you placed your WordPress shortcode:

How to add Portal

1. After you've added the tracking code to your page (and if you haven't yet, start here), you're ready to add the timer. Open up your WooCommerce product page in a new tab and copy the URL directly from the address bar:

2. Navigate to Pages, add the URL for your product page, select 'Display Portal', add the redirect URL, and click 'Save':

3. Now refresh your WooCommerce product page, and you should see Portal. Here's an example of what it will look like:
